Metronomy

What I remember from shooting this show was a sheer of enjoyment because I could shoot the entire show and the lighting was very dramatic. This photo of Metronomy is one of them.

Try to pronounce this -> Chthonic. That’s the name of the band (Google it how to pronounce it properly, I forgot already). But despite the difficult name, the band rocks! They gave what they got at the first annual Indonesian metal festival, Hammersonic 2012. This photo below is their bass player, Doris Yeh.

BRNDLS

This photo was taken at Joyland Music Festival 2012, a 2 day summer music festival that was held at a park in Senayan, Jakarta. I have had shot BRNDLS (formerly known as The Brandals) many times before so I knew what I was expecting, a great and attractive show! And that was exactly what I got for.

Look Away

This is Risa, a well-known Indonesian pop singer and she’s just 22 years old. I took this photo around February of 2011, almost a year ago, for NYLON Indonesia magazine. If I’m not mistaken, this photo didn’t make it to the magazine. Few days ago, I was looking at my old photos and I stumbled on this photo and did some heavy editing. I came up with 2 versions, color and black & white. The color version was posted on my Flickr (www.flickr.com/photos/cantsaynotohope) and the black & white one is posted here.

Stars and Rabbit

This photo was for NYLON Indonesia, a section called “Under the Radar”, a section where the magazine features up and coming band/artist. Stars and Rabbit is one of those bands who are making their way up to the independent music scene in Indonesia.

Janis

One thing I learn is to bring your camera at your friend’s birthday celebration of his/her kid because you would capture great moments. One of those photos I took is this photo of Janis, my friend, Rio Farabi’s daughter, his first child. I love how her big round eyes are not shy away looking straight at my camera.
